My Story
I don’t just build websites.
I build relationships.
A Beautiful Space
I’ve always been interested in design, and I built my first website in 2003, for my small business, a tutoring company. Over the years, I changed the business name, and the site went through several revisions.
My website helped me grow my business, and I ran that company for about twenty years.
Always a kind of “do-it-yourself-er,” I enjoy making everything from homemade dog food to cleaning products. In 2018, I made my first batch of soap. It was just a hobby, but people started buying it!
Without realizing it, I had started another small business! I set up an Etsy shop, and began selling my artisan soaps at local events.
Of course, I needed a website! So, I got to work creating an e-commerce site that showcased my products beautifully.
After closing my tutoring company, I returned to something I had always loved — coaching English as a Second Language to adult business professionals.
I had used various software and platforms to develop my sites in the past, but this time, I chose Squarespace. I fell in love with the platform, and I couldn’t resist starting another business! Serenity Place Designs was born.
It’s all about creating beautiful spaces. Living your passion is a beautiful space to be in.
Is your shop inviting, with a clean layout, or is it cluttered? Does the eye know where to start, and where to look next? Do the colors you have chosen convey a sense of calm, or something else?
Or is your store empty? It’s been said that if you don’t have a website, you don’t have business. Are you presenting yourself and your business as an established, trusted authority… or are your prospective clients looking into an empty space?
A Serene Environment
Your business is your happy place, and you pass that sense of pride and joy onto your clients or customers. You have worked so hard to build your business to where it is today, and I bet you can relate to the entrepreneur who lives inside all small business owners. No 401Ks or corporate environments for us!
Owning a small business is a lot of work, but it also provides us with a sense of satisfaction, security, and peace—that no one can take away from us.
Your website is like your store front. Imagine your prospective clients walking down the street, window shopping. They come across your store and look in. What do they see?
A Natural Fit
Your website should reflect who you are as a small business owner.
Having run service and product businesses for over twenty years, I know small business. Let’s work together to create a website that showcases all you have worked so hard to achieve.
You have probably heard the phrase, “You only get one chance to make a first impression.” That has never been more true than as it pertains to your website.
When your prospective clients look at your site, what do they see? More importantly, how do they feel?
People don’t buy products and services. They buy solutions to problems. A well-designed, beautiful website will leave your clients feeling like they belong. A well-designed site will answer the question, “Is this for me?” with a resounding, “Yes! This is a good fit!”
Are you ready to launch the site of your dreams? Working with a web designer who is also a small business owner doesn’t just make sense—it’s a natural fit.
